Routine Care During Pregnancy

Very important to taking care of the baby, even before their born. This is called prenatal care. We will have a healthy birth if we make sure to maintain a healthy pregnancy.

Prenatal Care

Getting early and regular prenatal care improves the chances of a healthy pregnancy. Prenatal visits to a health care provider usually include a physical exam, weight checks, and providing a urine sample. Depending on the stage of the pregnancy, health care providers may also do blood tests and imaging tests, such as ultrasound exams. These visits also include discussions about the mother's health, the fetus's health, and any questions about the pregnancy.

Moderate Exercise sessions

We may be concerned about risks associated with exercise during pregnancy and are unclear about what types of exercise are safe for the mother and the babies. Therefore, we need to be educated that moderate-intensity exercise can be safely continued during pregnancy as long as symptoms of preterm labor does not arise.

There are many benefits of exercise during pregnancy. Such as enjoyment, increasing energy, and decrease the rate of neonatal respiratory distress, depression, and cesarean deliveries.

It also can avoid gaining too much weight during pregnancy. Besides exercise, we can practice some tips. We can start pregnancy at a healthy weight if possible. We also need to eat balanced meals and refuel often and choose complex carbs.

While pregnant, we need to monitor and make sure of healthy weight gain. There is proper weight gain for each trimester as well before pregnancy. We also can refer to the guideline at the pregnancy calculator for Malaysian Mums.

Keep Track Of Pregnancy Due Date

Knowing your pregnancy due date is important. Due date doesn’t tell you exactly when your baby will arrive (though this will be ideal); rather, it helps your physicians to provide you with the best prenatal care possible. So how to know your due date quick and easy? You may refer this online pregnancy calculator tool made for Malaysian mummies. You can even find out the ideal weekly pregnancy weight gain via this tool also.

Have Enough Nutrients

If we were pregnant, we must take supplements because pregnancy increases the need for nutrients. Getting the right supplement that we need is important every day. Especially during pregnancy. We need to nourish both mother and baby.

We may need to take vitamin and mineral supplements for various reasons. Some mothers need some vitamins after a blood test. Some mothers follow specific diets, like vegans or maybe with food intolerances and allergies or poor nutrition.

Supplements are considered safe for pregnant mothers.

Always purchase vitamins from reputable brand and ask the doctor for more information.

While we are pregnant may need prenatal vitamins, folate, iron, vitamin D, Magnesium, ginger, fish oil, prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotic.

Prebiotics, Probiotics, and Postbiotic

The differences between prebiotics, probiotics, and Postbiotic

Pre, pro and postbiotics are one of my daily routine supplements. Even though we are not pregnant, prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotic are good supplements for our gut health.

Probiotics are supplements or foods that contain viable microorganisms that alter the microflora of the host.

Prebiotics are supplements or foods that contain a nondigestible ingredient that selectively stimulates the growth and/or activity of indigenous bacteria.

Postbiotics are non-viable bacterial products or metabolic byproducts from probiotic microorganisms that have biological activity in the host.

Prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotic are living microorganism that are thought to benefit digestive health.

Also may reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, postpartum depression, and infant eczema and dermatitis.

There is a good brand of prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotic. It's YourGutt.

YourGutt is a fermented rice bran powder beneficial for gut health. YourGutt is also the first in Malaysia and Asia to have the complete-biotics – prebiotic, probiotic, and postbiotics.

Caffeine will increase racing heart rate, high blood pressure, and a stimulated nervous system. Try switching to a natural decaf drink.

First-time moms require more water than normal. So, drink plenty of water. It becomes part of the amniotic fluid that surrounds your baby.

Try to have enough sleep. Take good naps. Take the time to catch up on sleep and let your body relax. During pregnancy, the body going through hormonal changes that will affect your energy levels.

Don't forget to make a birth plan and make this moment special and safe. Get excited for your bundle of joy by getting baby essentials. Go shopping for cute blankets, bibs, bottles, and some starter toys.
